Cookie policy
Exactly what Merivex stores in your browser, why, and how to change your mind.
Effective date: 11 September 2026 Last updated: 11 September 2026
This policy explains what Merivex stores in your browser, why, and how you control it. It covers the public website at www.merivex.ai and the product application at app.merivex.ai.
1. The short version
Merivex sets no cookies at all, on either the website or the application.
We use a small amount of browser storage (localStorage), and only for things the site cannot work without: remembering whether you chose light or dark appearance, keeping you signed in to the application, and recording your own cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.
We run no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts. Nothing is loaded from another company's servers to watch what you do. We have not written the usual paragraph about "our partners" because there are none.
2. What is actually stored
Strictly necessary (always active)
These cannot be turned off, because the site or the application would not work without them. They stay on your own device and are never sent to a third party.
| Name | Type | Surface | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
merivex-appearance | localStorage | www.merivex.ai, app.merivex.ai | Remembers whether you chose light or dark appearance, so the page does not flash the wrong theme on load. | Until you clear your browser storage |
merivex_access_token | localStorage | app.merivex.ai | Keeps you signed in to your workspace between page loads. Without it you would be signed out on every navigation. | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
merivex-consent | localStorage | www.merivex.ai | Records the cookie choice you made on this page, including which categories you allowed and when. Storing it is what stops the banner reappearing on every visit. | 12 months, then we ask again |
Analytics (optional, off until you allow it)
Merivex currently uses no analytics. There is no analytics provider, no measurement script and no analytics storage on either surface today.
The category exists in the consent banner because the consent mechanism is enforced rather than decorative: if analytics is introduced later, it is blocked by default and cannot run until this category is allowed. Choosing "Reject non-essential" today therefore also applies to whatever is added tomorrow.
If we do add analytics, this policy will be updated to name the provider, what it collects, and how long it keeps it, before that provider is switched on.
Advertising and marketing
Not used, and no category is offered for it. Merivex runs no advertising, retargeting, conversion tracking or marketing pixels. We have not added a marketing toggle to the banner, because a switch that controls nothing is misleading.
3. Why the application does not ask for consent
app.merivex.ai stores only what is strictly necessary to sign you in and to remember your appearance choice. Consent is not required for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, and asking anyway would imply there is an optional tracking decision to make. There is not.
If optional analytics is ever added to the application, it will respect the same consent decision described here.
4. Changing or withdrawing your choice
Your choice is not permanent and is not buried.
- Cookie settings in the website footer opens the same panel at any time.
- Changing a category takes effect immediately. Withdrawing consent stops the
relevant technology and removes storage in that category.
- Clearing your browser storage also clears your choice, and we will ask again
on your next visit.
- Because the choice is stored in your own browser, it applies to that browser
on that device. Using a different browser or a private window will ask again.
5. Managing storage in your browser
Every major browser can block or delete site storage through its own settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage is allowed, but the application will not be able to keep you signed in.
6. Changes to this policy
If what we store changes, this page changes with it, and the "last updated" date above moves. If a new optional category is introduced, it is off until you allow it, whatever you chose before.
